I am an associate professor in the department of economics at the University of Oklahoma. I received my Ph.D in Economics from U.C. Berkeley in 2009. I work primarily on economic development including topics that sit at the intersections of economics with other fields like gender, culture, and health. My research has been featured in the Atlantic, the Boston Globe, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the LSE United States Politics and Policy Centre, and VoxEU. Beginning August 2018, I will take over as director of graduate studies for OU's economics department.
