I am an Associate Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Economics at the University of Oklahoma. I received my Ph.D in Economics from U.C. Berkeley in 2009. I work primarily in economic development and applied economics on topics that sit at the intersection of economics with other fields like gender, culture, and health. My research has been featured in the Economist, the Atlantic, the Boston Globe, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the LSE United States Politics and Policy Centre, and VoxEU.
